• The Venezuelan Communist Party (Partido Comúnista de Venezuela, PCV) is a political party in Venezuela that adheres to the principles of Marxism-Leninism. Founded in 1931, it is one of the oldest political parties in Venezuela and has played a significant role in the country's political history, advocating for the rights of workers, peasants, and marginalized communities. The party's values are deeply rooted in the belief in a classless society, where the means of production are owned collectively, and wealth is distributed according to need rather than capital accumulation.
  
  The Venezuelan Communist Party seeks to overthrow the capitalist system, which it views as inherently exploitative, replacing it with a socialist system that prioritizes social welfare, equality, and the eradication of poverty. It emphasizes the importance of proletarian internationalism, supporting struggles against imperialism and for national liberation around the world. The party has historically been involved in labor movements, agrarian reforms, and education initiatives aimed at empowering the working class and reducing social inequalities.
  
  Throughout its history, the PCV has often been at odds with the Venezuelan government, especially during periods of authoritarian rule and political repression. In the context of the Bolivarian Revolution initiated by Hugo Chávez, the PCV has had a complex relationship with the ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), supporting many of its social policies while also critiquing aspects of its governance and advocating for a more radical approach to socialism.
  
  The Venezuelan Communist Party's values are characterized by a commitment to democratic principles within the framework of building a socialist society. It advocates for workers' control over production, agrarian reform to benefit peasants and rural workers, and the defense of national sovereignty against foreign intervention. The party also emphasizes the importance of education, healthcare, and housing as fundamental human rights, advocating for policies that ensure these rights are met for all Venezuelans. Despite the challenges it has faced, including periods of illegality and repression, the PCV remains an active force in Venezuelan politics, continuing to fight for a socialist future.
